The door burst open as I jumped up and Asia walked in yelling. Turning down the speaker so that I could understand what she said.

“Heavy is in the car! He got shot! I need you to help me bring him in the house!” She yelled looking down at my stomach her eyes stretched but she didn’t say anything. I guess she was preoccupied with what was going on with Heavy. I’ve heard so much about Heavy and I couldn’t wait to meet him, but I didn’t want to meet him under these conditions. I followed Asia out of the door and helped her bring him into the house with some assistance from him, but he couldn’t do much of anything. We laid him on the ground, and I put something under his head to keep the fluids from coming out of his mouth causing him to suffocate in his own blood. I had to keep his head elevated. Asia was going crazy, and I needed her to calm down so she could tell me what happened and why the fuck wasn’t he at a hospital right now. With these niggas putting my degree to work who needed a hospital? I thought to myself.

“Asia!” I yelled out and she looked at me.

“What happened? Is my bag still here?” I asked jumping into action. I ran to the end of the hall and found my bag that had all of my equipment inside of it from when I was going to class. My big ass was moving off of straight adrenaline right now because any other time I would’ve been out of breath.

“I don’t know but he told me not to call the police. I didn’t know what else to do.” She frantically replied. “Please help him. I can’t lose him. I can’t do this shit again.” She cried.

I ripped his bloody shirt off him that was now soaked from his blood. His blood was pouring out from the gunshot that I located on the lower half of his body. The bullet was lodged in his stomach, but it didn’t look like it hit anything and that was a good thing. Using the tweezers, I focused my attention on getting the bullet out. He was still conscious, but he was very weak. I needed to remove the bullet and close the wound. Without the proper tools and medicine, unfortunately he was going to feel all of the pain.

“Heavy.” I called out to him to get him talking.

“Yeah.” He answered as I stuck the tweezers in his wound. It was a good thing that I was good at the game Operation growing up because it definitely helped me keep a steady hand while I was working. I had Pops to thank for that. Maybe he knew that being a doctor was my true calling that was my ultimate goal.

“So, you’re the man that I’ve been hearing so much about?” I asked.

He laughed causing him to put too much pressure on his stomach. The blood oozed out as I wiped it with one of the white towels that Asia sat next to me.
